Mother & Mai is a premium home decor and candle company dedicated to creating products that serve a purpose, empower people and promote good health. Our candles are made of all-natural soy wax that holds lots of fragrance and oil. Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the chips and hydrogenated.
Mother & Mai is a company that started as a solution to our founder’s problem with childcare. When Monique and Michael Thomas sent their daughter to daycare, they quickly noticed the astronomical prices. Even with them both having decent jobs, daycare expenses would send them in the red. So rather than working just to pay daycare expenses, they decided to start a candle company that allowed one of them to stay with their daughter. That’s why we donate a percentage of our sales to parents who need help with paying for childcare.
